What we build

Three service areas on a shared foundation – each with typical situations from our projects that we have solved.

Data Warehousing & BI

A central data warehouse is the foundation for every further data project. It brings the data sources together, calculates metrics traceably and delivers dashboards that business teams work with directly.

A data warehouse – without risk in rollout and development

We bring a ready-made platform based on AWS and Snowflake, solutions from two market leaders. It is set up in a day and runs in the company's own AWS account.

  • No licence fees – code and infrastructure belong to the company
  • Data stays in the company's own cloud account, no external operator
  • Almost maintenance-free: load processes run for years without intervention

Implemented in: Media, live entertainment, retail, hospitality, leisure, real estate

Challenge

Many all-in-one BI solutions promise quick results. In practice, development costs run high, the solution hits limits as the company grows, or use cases can't be modelled cleanly – and in the end, gaps are bridged with unversioned scripts.

Solution

Instead of buying a BI platform, we rely on proven cloud services. AWS Step Functions orchestrate the load processes – with no ongoing maintenance costs. Snowflake is the de facto standard for cloud data warehousing and extremely cheap at low usage: one or two refreshes of the data model per day are often enough, and reports then run from the QuickSight or Power BI cache – the warehouse then costs around €100 a month. Unlike a classic database, it scales up seamlessly as the company grows. Amazon QuickSight fits in seamlessly and is priced low. With AI support, new data sources are connected quickly today.

Sensitive data in one place – secure and GDPR-compliant

The platform runs entirely in the company's cloud environment. Access, keys and configuration are secured and traceable.

  • No third party with access to the data
  • Access keys are rotated automatically
  • Configuration versioned and verifiable at any time

Implemented in: Media, live entertainment, retail, hospitality, leisure, real estate

Challenge

A central data warehouse holds a lot of sensitive data in one place. With SaaS solutions, an external operator comes on top, who has to be secured contractually and technically.

Solution

All components run in the company's AWS account. Credentials are stored in AWS Secrets Manager and rotated automatically. Roles and permissions in Snowflake are defined as code and can be checked against the actual state at any time. Every load run is logged.

Industry software without an interface

Lean exporters fetch the data directly from the source system's database – licence-free and with minimal effort for in-house IT.

  • Less load on the source system than via ODBC or JDBC
  • Remotely controllable without SSH or RDP access
  • Robust when source tables change over time

Implemented in: Hospitality, leisure, retail

Challenge

Many industry solutions offer no usable interface. But the data sits in a database – such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server – that can be reached on the company network.

Solution

A small Python application runs where the database can be reached. It exports the data with the database's command-line tools and uploads it to Amazon S3, from where it flows straight into the data warehouse. The exporter is controlled through tasks stored in S3 – it checks every minute whether there is something to do. We know the typical pitfalls from several systems, so new variants are built quickly.

The figures have to match the legacy system

We rebuild existing reports, exports and even invoices in the data model and make every deviation visible – until the old system can be retired with confidence.

  • Trust in the figures from day one
  • Traceable how every metric is calculated
  • Deviations continuously visible in a dashboard

Implemented in: Leisure, hospitality, retail

Challenge

A new data warehouse is only accepted if its figures match the familiar reports. But how a backend system's standard reports calculate is often undocumented.

Solution

We load the original – a standard report, an Excel export or a PDF invoice – into the data warehouse and adjust the data model until the figures match. The reconciliation is built permanently into the data model, and deviations appear in a dashboard. Once one to two years of history show only minor deviations throughout, the old report can be set aside or the legacy system retired.

AI & Data Applications

AI is not an end in itself. It becomes useful when it works with the company's own data and knowledge – connected securely and with clear permissions.

AI assistants should work with the company's own data

An MCP server connects ChatGPT, Claude or Microsoft Copilot to the data warehouse and the dashboards – the next logical step once the data warehouse is in place.

  • Works with all common AI assistants
  • Business context tailored to the company
  • Runs serverless, at practically no extra cost

Implemented in: Media, live entertainment, retail, leisure

Challenge

AI assistants know neither a company's data nor its terminology. Exporting data into chat tools is a data protection risk, and without business context the answers remain vague.

Solution

Through the MCP server, the assistant queries the data warehouse directly, explores the QuickSight dashboards and shows where which data and reports can be found. A maintained knowledge base with metric definitions and business processes makes the answers precise. Sign-in via the company's Google Workspace or by token.

Access & security

Roles control which tools and data someone may use – via the existing database permissions. Access is read-only by default, checked on every call and can be revoked within a minute.

Demand and cancellations should show up early

Forecasting models built on the data warehouse predict occupancy and sales or detect which subscriptions are at risk – as a basis for pricing, staff planning and targeted outreach.

  • Forecasts for every day or every performance
  • Spot subscriptions at risk before they are cancelled
  • Explainable models instead of a black box

Implemented in: Leisure, live entertainment, media

Learn more

Challenge

How busy a day or a performance will be depends on season, weekday, holidays and weather – and above all on how fast tickets sell in advance. Rules of thumb such as last year's figures or a moving average capture this only roughly. Subscription models are similar: cancellations announce themselves in usage behaviour but are often noticed only when it is too late.

Solution

We develop models that build directly on the data in the data warehouse. For occupancy, they use the booking curve – how many tickets have already been sold with how many days to go – together with calendar and weather data. For subscriptions, they evaluate usage and contract history. The model itself is interchangeable: from a quickly trained, easily explained linear model to more powerful non-linear methods.

Team Enablement

A data warehouse has to keep running after the project: monitored, documented and built so that the in-house team can operate and develop it further.

Operations and knowledge should not depend on individuals

Monitoring, alerts and AI-assisted documentation of sources, data model and dashboards are a fixed part of the platform.

  • Alerts via Slack, Teams or e-mail
  • Trigger load processes yourself via a web app
  • Documentation is generated automatically

Implemented in: Media, live entertainment, retail, hospitality, leisure, real estate

Learn more

Challenge

Over time, data sources, models and dashboards grow. Without monitoring, errors go unnoticed; without documentation, soon nobody knows where a figure comes from or what a dashboard is for.

Solution

Every load run is monitored, and errors trigger an alert immediately. A web app lets the team start processes themselves. AI documents the data sources and the data model and describes every dashboard. This documentation is also what lets AI assistants find their way around the system.
